Michelle has been a movement teacher for many years, beginning with aerobics after her girls were born. She taught at the YMCA for 20 years, classes that ranged from cycle to body sculpt, senior fitness, water aerobics and yoga. In 2000 she added in depth yoga training to her resume, which continues to be an integral part of her life.
In 2014 she began Comprehensive Pilates training under Melissa Kakavas and Balanced Body and is also a NCPT- Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher.
Michelle believes wholeheartedly in the efficacy of Joseph Pilate's three guiding principles of Breath, Whole Body Movement and Whole Body Commitment.
She has seen first hand in herself and her clients the healing and joy that happens when a Pilates practice becomes an integral part of one's life.
Michelle works with clients of all ages and believes that movement is for everyone. The Pilates system is particularly adept at meeting a client exactly where they are at, as well as providing appropriate challenges for both the client's body and mind.
Michelle has experience with clients that have pre-existing conditions such as, various orthopedic issues, joint surgeries, spinal issues, to simple overall tightness of the muscular system.
An additional passion Rae has is to grow and support other new instructors in the early stages of their teaching through consultation + apprenticeship and as they open their own studios. Collaboration in the pilates community is what keeps us all thriving!
