Alia AlQimlass

Balanced Body CPT

Alia grew up dancing, she trained for 12 years in classical ballet and modern dance. After leaving her dance company in 2007, she searched for a physical activity that could replace her passion for dance. After years of practicing Yoga and Barre, in 2015 she was finally introduced to Pilates. By chance, she was the only client to show up for a group barre class, so the instructor offered to give her a private session on the Reformer instead. After one hour, Alia was hooked. She loved the precision and control Pilates requires, and the total mental focus it demands. Eventually she began to see her body change, her hip and low back pain disappear, and her posture transformed.

After graduating with an MBA from France in 2019, Alia landed a job in management consulting where she soon realized that her Pilates practice was her one respite from the long-hours and constant stress. During the pandemic she made the decision to leave her job to pursue Pilates full time.

Alia has completed 500 hours of training and is currently enrolled in the Balanced Body comprehensive bridge program. She has been teaching Pilates since January of 2022, working with a variety of clients in group and private settings. She has taught in Brooklyn, NY, as well as Greensboro, Cary and Wake Forest, NC.

As an instructor, Alia likes to focus on form and precision. She loves the mindful movements of Pilates, and the mental calmness she feels after a session. Her goal is to help others discover their own mind-body connection, and leave clients feeling one inch taller after each session.
